What actually differs between Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms hardware, and how to tell whether a product in our catalog will work with your platform.
Most enterprise video bars and cameras aren't tied to a single video platform, but the room systems built around them often are. Here's what actually differs, and how to read our platform filter when you're shopping.
Certified room system vs BYOM peripheral
A camera or speaker on its own, like the Yealink UVC-series or a headset, works with any meeting app — it's just a peripheral. A full room system, like the Yealink MVC series or a MeetingBar running as an appliance, is different: it runs dedicated software certified against a specific platform's requirements, and that certification determines which platform it can run.
Yealink MVC series — Microsoft Teams Rooms only
Every MVC system in our catalog (S40, S50, S60, S80, S90) is a dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms system: a mini-PC, a touch controller, and a Yealink camera/audio module, all running the Teams Rooms software stack. These are not switchable to Zoom — if your organization standardizes on Zoom, skip the MVC line entirely regardless of how good the hardware specs look.

MeetingBar A-series — either platform, your choice
The Yealink MeetingBar A-series (A10 through A50) runs as an Android appliance that can be provisioned for Microsoft Teams or Zoom Rooms — the hardware doesn't change, only the software provisioning does. This is the family to shortlist if you're not fully committed to one platform yet, or if different rooms in your building need different platforms.
Poly Studio X-series — also dual-platform
Poly's Studio X30/X52/X70 line follows the same pattern as the MeetingBar series: Android-based all-in-one bars certified for both Teams and Zoom. If your organization already has Poly gear deployed elsewhere, these are a natural fit alongside the MeetingBar line.
How to check before you buy
Every product page on this site lists its supported platforms under Specs Overview. If you already know your organization's platform, use the Platform filter on the product list page to narrow straight to compatible hardware — it will immediately exclude platform-locked systems like the MVC series if you filter to Zoom.
Our recommendation
If your organization has already standardized on Microsoft Teams Rooms and isn't likely to change, the MVC series gives you the most polished, purpose-built experience. If there's any chance you'll run Zoom in some rooms — or you want to keep options open — the MeetingBar A-series or Poly Studio X-series is the safer default.
